Stryker225I'd spend like 10K on guns, I dunno, maybe save the rest...

Widowmaker416I have a 416 that kills, don't need to buy any high dollar guns. 40 grand - - - - go on hunts! first to Africa, then to New Zealand, and a trip to Argentina. And you know what I did it all with my Remington 416.................

KathiJohnTheGreek,
Now that is IMPRESSIVE.

FjoldI'd take my brand new M70 375 H&H (Lefthand) that I just picked up 2 hours ago and lose myself in Africa for a couple of weeks.

Mike_DettorreLet's see...I got a 9.3x64, a 9.3x62, a 8mm Mauser, a 308 Win, and a 22 mag...that does everything on the planet...
I'd put about 10k down on my mortgage...go to cabo for a long weekend...fly to Twin Falls have lunch with Ray, fly to Dubai have lunch with walter and Saeed and blow the rest on women...

JohnTheGreekKathi,
Oh, how I wish it were I in that photo! Given the choice of that head on the wall or a double rifle, I think the choice is fairly easy, dont you?

700 nitroyes but 505 really really closes my bullet selection. but i can always work around that.
remember here i am left handed and heym is of no use to me
my basic minimum is a 600 grain bullet at 2400 fps out of a 50 caliber rifle
21 November 2004, 18:42
700 nitroi still want the horse power but with out the cost.
after racking my brain on this two rifle battery i have basicaly settled on a 510 caliber bolt and 500 nitro double
if anything alot of the componets may be interchangeable......powder....primers.....ect.
basicaly i want 6000-7000 foot pounds out of my bolt rifle and 5800-6000 out of a double if plenty

500grains505 Gibbs has better resale value than 510 Wells.
Or you could get a Heym bolt gun in .500 NE to go with a .500 NE double. That would simplify the ammo situation.

JefferyDenmarkCrazy American/700 nitro

How about the .600 Nitro Express in a double and a .510 cal bolt action. That should do the trick.
Or you could get the Robar RC 50 Then you will always have enough gun and the ability to reach out.

KathiJohnTheGreek,
I could not agree more.

700 nitroi have very little interest in hunting countrys other than africa.
i also dont have much of interest in game other than buffalo...elephant...hippo and larger plains game like eland and kudu. i like big guns big game the only thing i like small are my woman.
thats why i have no interest in spending my money on small stuff like 375's
heck the smallest caliber centerfire i owen is a 416 rigby ruger number 1 i use it mainly as my all round hunting rifle from deer on up.
im just trying to deside on a 2 gun dangerouse game battery 1 bolt 1 double.

500grains.700, if you like big guns, you already have the ultimate big gun with that .700 NE double. If that didn't suit your fancy, wouldn't you be better off giving something smaller a try, such as a .470 NE or a .458 Lott?
