one gun i Africa
375 H&H is always at least an acceptable choice. It doesn't do anything exceptional, but it does everything suitably.
Longest shot on game with mine was about 375 yards with a 270 TSX on my Gembok in Namibia one year ago this week.

is it enough with a bolt action 375 H&H for all manner of plain games and eventually lion or buff?

So, 465 H&H, what part of the question was not understood?
Thanks,

With all due respect, I fully understood the question, but I don't see any rule on AR that prevents us from questioning the premise that the question is based on. Am I wrong?

Safari-HuntIf I was limited to one rifle for the rest of my life the 375 H&H would be it. No question about it.
Learn it and use it correctly. Remember it's not the shot that kills the animal but what the bullets hits.

Russ GouldOne gun, many barrels?
How about a Valmet, Tikka or FinnClassic "System" gun? With a set in 9.3x74R, another in 12/12. That all fits into a compact case with scope and mounts and ammo, with space for a third set of bbls, perhaps a set of combo barrels in 12/30-06 if you like that idea.
Yes, I am biased....we are the importer for these fantastic system guns.
465H&H, of course you're not wrong. As a matter of fact you're right. I'd personally rather have a number of rifles for hunting plains and dangerous game combined. It's just that the way I read the question is a "one gun for all game hunted" type of question. Didn't mean to sound like a wise guy.
Have a good one.
