makiAfrica in February/March
Hi folks,
Hypothetical question here. Suppose you'd been to the Selous and central Namibia already. Your wife has never been to Africa at all, but is now thinking she'd like to go and finds sable interesting. You'd like a sable/roan and another buff. The best time to go, for reasons other than hunting, might be February or March. Where would you start looking for a hunt?
Thanks,
Dean

500grainsTypically the good outfitters know who the other good outfitters are.

makiTrue. My question is more about which countries have seasons open at that time and what the conditions (temp, grass, leaves etc) would be like.
Thanks,
Dean

500grainsOh. Cameroon and the CAR have seasons that start early, so Feb would be just right. March is fine in southern Africa (Zim, etc.) although very leafy and hard to see game.

Rich ElliottWe hunt is some part of the country 11 months out of the year. No sable in Ethiopia though and Sudan Roan aren't on license. It's a perfect time for Nile Buffalo though.
