Elephants gone wild...in Kansas...
I was watching the morning news just a while ago and saw where some elephants got loose from a circus up around Kansas City, Kansas and were running around in neighborhoods, through backyards and whatnot.
What was most surprising though was there was no coverage of Bill Stewart stalking them with his CZ. Just think of the money he could have saved on plane tickets and daily rates.

Thankfully the authorities seemed to have used their heads and let the animals settel down. They were recovered by the handlers without incident.

I thought it was interesting that they were African elephants instead of the Indian ele that are usually in circuses.

About 10 years ago a rhino escaped from the zoo near Lafayette, LA. It crossed a main highway and eventually returned to the zoo. If memory serves me correct the zoo had no tranquilizer for the rhino. One was brought from LSU in Baton Rouge. Before the rhino was tranqualized it charged some people. It was shot at about 10' with a 300 Win Mag. It dropped it in its tracks. Supposedly the shooter received several death threats for killing the rhino.

The death threats were probably for not being invited for gumbo after it was shot. Big Grin

I forgot about the rhino story until I read the elephant story. Apologies for hijacking the thread.
