IMPORTANT Announcement! AR Has Been SOLD!
To Robert Gabriel Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe.
The AR cew is taking a long deserved break, and are going to embark on a multi country hunting safari.
Outfitters who wish to submit proposals for these hunts, are ready to accept Zim Dollars for payment, are requested to do so on this thread.

Chris-NZI would have thought a hunt was worth more than $2.45

How the hell would you average poor Zimbabwean manage to buy their basic groceries with that inflation?? I guess it'll get to a trading economy if it gets any worse.

Michael RobinsonOne must factor in inflation. I had a ROFO. Which I hereby exercise and rescind. Give me my 3.7 cents in monetary damages forthwith.

prof242Uh, If you'll take it all in U.S. pennies, converting to Zimbabwe Dollars (at the black market rate, of course).

Political correctness is nothing but liberal enforced censorship
But you gotta love the artwork on the paper money. They do an outstanding job of the animals. I wonder who does the engraving.
In a way one has to give Mugabe credit is allowing at least some whites to carry on, the hunting industry of note of course.
And I guess in rural Zim subsistance farming is alive and well, as over the last 20 years I honestly don't see much difference out in the boonies. Maybe between subsistance farming and foreign aid, life goes on in Zim.
The election violence is all portayed differently in the U.S. Very desperate conditions and the "starving" people in Zim but the much worse violence in 1994 South Africa was portrayed as a necessity, the US media's excused behavior for the sake of black empowerment.
Well, they got black rule in Zim in 1980 and SA in 1995. They both have done such a good job of it.

Use Enough GunYes, the artwork is quite nice, but that is the only thing redeeming about the money.

Use Enough GunWell, if Mugabe runs AR like he has Zimbabwe . . . . .
Saeed, how would a guy go about getting some example of Zim money? How would you feel about selling me some? It'd be an interesting conversation starter!

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

Well thanks for the offer, regarding your private charters we can fly you into zim and pick you up again and we will be happy to accept zim dollars. Taking into account of the current exchange rate we have decided not to drop the last three zero's, 5 600 000 000 000 zim dollars.
We will be sending a dump truck to collect the money.....

Bill/OregonSaeed: I was horrified to see the title of this thread, and relieved to have fallen victim once again to your sense of humor!
I would sure love to get my hands on a few of those bills, but hope by the time I go back to Africa in 2009 that Mr. Mugabe will have been consigned to the history books, and the poor citizens of Zim will have an economy that is getting back on its feet.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Art S.Since no one else has made an actual proposal yet, I will offer you a stopover in Eastern Ky, for a fall rodent hunt. Plains and open country rodents available are squirrel, chipmunks, field mice, opposum, moles and flying squirrels. Any good small caliber PR (plains rodent) rifle will work. However, if we are working any thicker cover(landfills and trash dumps), some sort of DR (Dangerous Rodent) rifle may be desireable. These are home to some of the largest rats in existence and close encounters are expected there. The really dugga boy rats will sometimes sport front teeth in excess of 1/4" wide, and make a really impressive full body mount.
These hunts will be staffed by experienced crews of hillbilly trackers and professional poachers (I mean hunters). Meals will be prepared by the excellent chef at the local McDonalds. We envision these hunts being conducted mostly from camps, with housing being provided in the trackers own bedrooms. If you would prefer luxury accomodations with indoor facilities, a Motel 6 is conveniently located, but will add to the cost of the hunt.
Day rates are still being determined, as the lease for the landfill (I mean concession) has not been finalized. It is expected that none of the trophy fees will exceed $5 Zimbabwe, with the exception of DR hunting, which will of course carry a premium of $2 Zimbabwe per animal. Trophy packing and shipping can be arranged through a local post office. (Please bring your own box of table salt for cape preparation).
If you want to spend an extra day or two either before or after the hunt, we can arrange some exciting trips to see the natives in their traditional activities (mud wrestling, moonshining, noodling for catfish and, everybodies favorite, hell raising.)
If interested, please respond quickly. The good dates are filling up fast. Once we have booked 3% of the available days, we will likely try to offer these trips through Cabela's hunting service, and the opportunity will then be gone.
Travel here is really quick. You can either drive in from a major city or take a charter in and land at, well, about anywhere as long as the minimum landing distance is 250' or less. That's our limit of flat ground.
Hope to see you soon.

Don't know about Saeed and his crew, but we are surely interested in booking a 21 day full bag safari. Just have a few questions.
What are the daily bag and total in possession limits on the PR and the DR?
Assume no limit on rats as they are varmints, but please advise.
Do we need any kind of license or is that only for hunting in daylight?
Do you supply the jacklights and batteries or should we bring some?
Do your concessions have fox and gray squirrels, or just gray? This is full bag, right?
Do the local game wardens give you much trouble?
What is the penalty for nonresident poaching? What I mean is, is it a fine only (and is that included in the daily rates, or extra?), or is any jail time involved? I ask because we have a limited budget and can only spare three weeks for this.
Is Kentucky moonshine or other hooch included in the daily rates or extra? Tennessee Tranquilizer will be an acceptable substitute if you can get that brand.
Do the local revenue men give you much trouble?
We like to eat the game we shoot. Will one of your hillbilly trackers or his old lady cook up a rodent stew if we share it with them?
Is a .177 O2 Express enough air gun for the DR?
Sorry for the questions but this will be our first time and we want to do things right.
Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, one more thing. We don't tip, but if we get drunk enough we will sometimes get careless and accidentally share our liquor.

To get out of insult range I think you have to raise that by ten orders of magnitude!
In Zimbabwe, if you feel like a million bucks, you're legally dead.

Sadly, we will now be unable to book any hunts in the near future. Our lease has been overrun by Buckeyes from Ohio. They have been a huge problem for the last several years, due to their constant incursions to enjoy the scenery and recreation in Ken-Ta-Tah (Native American spelling), but up until now it has been possible to continue operation if you avoid the WalMart parking lots and main highways. With the current level and range of infestation, their driving habits, their anger over not owning the Ohio river, coupled with the fact that they have never hunted game with a rifle has made it impossible for us to guarantee the safety of our clients.

Michael RobinsonI am disappointed. Is there a season on Buckeyes?
