<North of 60>9.3 x 62
I am really interested in buying one of these 9.3's and using it as my moose gun up here in the NWT of Canada. Presently use a 350 Rem Mag but it is hard to make it work with bullets over 250 grains. If I ever went over to Africa which countries /animals would the 9.3 x 62 be a legal minimum caliber to use?
Any recomendations as to what to house this caliber in. Am thinking of a CZ but would like to know what cfhoices are out their.

Ku-dudeAccording to Ray, the 9.3x62 can be used in most African countries for dangerous game. Obviously, it can be used for all plains game. It is a bush gun for use under 275meters; however, within that limitation, it is one killin' SOB.
CZ makes one in their American series that is suppose to be very nice. You could have a M98 rebarreled which is quite easy since the feed rails are essentially the same as the 8mm and 7mm. You could rebarrel a M70 in 308 or 3006. The least expensive option would be the CZ or rebarreling a M98.
I used the 250 Nosler BT on my last hunt, and it killed very effectively. It is a tough bullet, penetrating a bushbuck at 25yds and leaving an exit wound not much larger than the entry wound. The animal was knocked down by the impact and never got up. Ku-dude
