JCS271Possibly the perfect sight combination!
I'm preparing my Montana Rifle Co. .505 Gibbs for several upcoming competitions (and a spring bear hunt!). I can't see conventional irons that well so I recently added a great aperature sight from Skinner Sights.
That still left a big flat area on the front base that was just begging for some type of a red dot.....
I was recently talking with Wayne Jacobsen at American Hunting Rifles about a Redfield Accelerator dot sight I had purchased. Since the mounting holes are the same as the Leupold Delta Point I wanted to try one of his custom QD bases that fit both the CZ's and my MRC.
Well, it came in the mail yesterday and it is OUTSTANDING! Fit and finish were perfect and the lever was perfectly timed to lay parallel with the bore when fully tightened. I think that the Redfield sits a little farther forward on the base than the Leupold but it works great.
Here is a pic with both sights installed........
I think I am ready for anything!

BiebsGood info. My 505 is also on an MRC 1999 PH action, and I didn't want to scope it.

Biebs - why hit the barn with a scoped 505 gibbs when you can miss it clearly unscoped

I really like the AHR mount - maybe I will get one for my 458 lott.

Venture SouthExcellent choice.
Exactly what I am doing to all of my dg rifles as my eyes get more and more buggered.
I went with the Trijicon RMR but I think any of those will work equally well.
Now you just need to go hunting. Good luck

lavacaI have Talley bases on my Lott and a Talley peep fitted to the rear. I've been wanting to mount something like that on the front base for some time, but just haven't gotten around to it. Looks like a nice set up.

Idaho SharpshooterAre we discussing Biebs inside the barn or outside shooting his 505?

Barry GroulxGhost ring sights are very fast, and not that inaccurate at close ranges.
