.450 NE brass or loaded ammo?
I need a source of .450 NE brass or ammo. I can find the Knoych, but they are mighty proud of it. Any alternatives? This if for the straight case, not No. 2. I have the newer, larger rim diameter rifle.

You might check with Westley Richards, their store in Springfield, MO usually has a large stock of ammo on hand.

judgeg,
Try Westley-Richards for loaded ammo
This was shamlessly copied from their site.

.450 3 1/4" Nitro-Express

480 grain Soft Nose or Solid Bullet Muzzle Velocity 2150 ft/sec. Energy 4940 ft/lbs. BL 24"

Price: Box of 5 - Soft $45 Solid $49

Otherwise Huntingtons should be able to round up brass and bullets.
I think Norma have 450 basic, but i did not see it at huntingtons.

Buffalo Arms has both rim sizes at $45 per 20 and it is Bell Brass.

Judgeg: I have both Bertram and HDS (made by Bell, I believe) that I got from Huntingtons.com for my Ruger No. 1 in .450 3.25 NE.

Jens I think the basic brass from Norma is a belted magnum basic, like 458 LOTT. Could be wrong though!
www.huntingtons.com has brass, and bullets for the 450 NE 3.25" ! both Bertram, and HDS

Hi judgeg,
Have you look at Mast Technologies site. They make brass for most of the old British doubles. There is a link to Mast on the Links page of my site. www.470mbogo.com

Not sure if this is useful to anyone, but here it goes.
I called Norma with the question if the 45 Basic is 3.25" long. The guy I talked to said that he did not have a drawing available but he could send me a few samples,I thought my leg was being pulled but I received 6pcs of the 45 B in my mail today. Apperently they are an extended .45-70 case 73.4 mm long (why did I not ask for some 416s instead?)
Oh well, just nice to be surprised i guess.
