My main question is how come they are cheaper as far as trophy fees are concened that other areas. their cape buffalo is 3200 and others are up to 11000. My other question is on their buffalo hunts they say 10 days, well what happens if you shoot your buffalo on the second day are you still charged for the rest of the day?

They are on private land so can set their trophy fees as they want as they don't have to pay Parks anything. Thats why they are cheaper. Yes you do have to pay for the full 10 days wether you stay for them or not.

What Mark said and most people don't book a buffalo only hunt. Folks take advantage of all the other aniamls that they will see on the their hunt. I think most buffalo hunters end up takng 4-5 other species while on their safari. You may find that just being in the bush and doing a little game viewing, bird shooting or fishing is pretty valuable all by itself. Safari is a total 24/7 experience. Relaxing and taking it all in is equally as important as shooting the game.

Don't know where you're seeing that. The $3,200 is trophy fee only, while the $11,000 is daily rates and trophy fee. In the end, I think the BVC with daily rates and TF is probably slightly more than other Zim areas, but the possibility of killing a cranker are much greater.

Mark is right, though, some of the other areas might offer more external experience, like the valley or some parts of Mozambique or Zambia.

The preserve issue is no difference. The BVC is HUGE. The double fence keep the very important and valuable rhino in and by in large the poachers out. That's it. Totally a wild and unscripted hunt. Despite the fence the BVC is serious about their anti poaching efforts. I think something like 200 game scouts patrol and keep the nardowells away from the game.

The big conservanies in Zimbabwe are far from preserves. What they are is examples of what the natural game populations can be like when you eliminate 98% of the poaching, pump a little water and have a good enviroment that supports abundant game.
