If you have that much to fight for, then you should be fighting. The sentiment that modern day ordinary Canadians do not need firearms for protection is pleasant but unrealistic. To discourage responsible deserving Canadians from possessing firearms for lawful self-defence and other legitimate purposes is to risk sacrificing them at the altar of political correctness."

This deserves it's own thread with pictures and a story, not just for the size but also for the area.

Didn't Nassos Roussos hunt Sudan back in the day ?
I remember an American hunter back in the early 90's telling me he hunted Elephant with Nassos back in the old days just before it closed.
Sorry off topic there...

No. Nassos hunted a few in Kulo Kunta and Gambella. Then 2 years in Tepi. Then until 1992 in Gura Farda ...all in SW Ethiopia.

Just FYI: there are a lot of guys posting big ivory but not too many posting average ivory.

Lots of 30 pound bulls are taken.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
