Hello all, I am new to this forum I am just about to order a new double from Holland and have discovered that Woodleigh are doing a 350 grain soft and solid in .375 H&H which is the calibre I am ordering (in rimmed). Does anyone out there have experience with this bullet on buffalo ? If it's Ok I will get the rifle regulated for it.(the rifle will be used all over the world so I don't want a .400 or bigger) thanks in advance and regards, Mike Bailey

Normally I prefer very heavy for caliber bullets. In your case you might want to consider having the rifle regulated for the 300 or 270 grain bullets. While heavy for caliber bullets normally give added penetration and stopping power, in the 375 Flanged you may not get enough velocity to make the 350 grain bullet as effective as a 300 grain bullet. In addition since you want to use the rifle all over the world, having it regulated to shoot a bullet with better long range capabilities would be a definite advantage.

I'm not a double gun shooter but it would seem to me as 465 H&H stated the 350 gr. bullet might not be the best all around bullet because of reduced velocity plus it is an oddball weight that might not be in production forever. If you shoot the more common 300 gr. weight it should be available for a long time in one guise or another and be perfectly adequate for anything you want to hunt.

BTW if I had the disposable income for a English double I'd probably choose the 375 flanged myself.

I am afraid I do not know much about doubles.

But would suggest you stick to 300 grain bullets for the 375 H&H.

Thse have been working fine on buffalo for years, and personally, I prefer to have the additional velocity of the 300 grain over the additional 50 grains in bullet weight.

Woodleighs are fine bullets, especially for doubles.

Ditto. The 300 gr. bullets will do most anything.

Though you didn't specify it exactly, if it were I, I'd go with the 375 Flanged Magnum.

The flanged mags are harder to find, I agree with your choice of rimmed.
