Lion Hunting - the real world
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new...airobi-incident.htmlReminds me of the entertainment in ancient Rome !! A big audience too watch the gladiator take down the lion. Maybe they should have let the lion take a few to get the point accross to the antis.

BuffHunter63I wouldn't have wanted to be in that white car while the ranger was opening up with that military-style rifle.
Nice lion though, would have been worth $50K USD if the government allowed sports hunting.

Buffhunter63...
Yes, buffalo hunting is great, but...

Zimbabwe Wildlife ConservationThat lion could have easily been darted and moved further afield to a safe area. Locals obviously harassed it, in the mayhem someone got mauled... Bad communication between relevant deptarments in the KWS. If it was that close to town, surely the wildlife vet could have been called in to deal with it?
Where's all the media hype? Where are the anti hunters? Seems very quiet doesn't it..?? Bloody hypocrites the lot of them.

Worse than hypocrites...they are totally illogical...
...when logic goes out the window...it makes it virtually impossible for a sane person to debate them.

BwanamichObviously we don't have all the facts but the KWS spokesperson did say that under the circumstances, it would have taken too long for the vet to arrive on the scene and try to dart the lion for mobilization back to the park. With a growing mob - on foot - hurling stones and screaming like chickens, it could have deteriorated fast so perhaps the decision to put down the lion may have been warranted. The way they went about it and with a vehicle apparently "in the line of fire" was disconcerting to say the least!
