Overnite in Atlanta
Don't know how many of you guys get stuck with this situation, but I have to overnite in Atlanta going. Where do you guys recommend? All I want is a decent, ECONOMICAL room with airport shuttle.

HarryWe stayed at the Raddison near the airport. The Raddison bus picked us up at the airport and delivered us back the next morning.
Push, push, click, click. Worked like a charm.
Have fun on your hunt!
Thanks. Isn't the Radisson quite expensive? How much was your room?
Did the same thing last July. The Raddison with shuttle less than a 100 bucks. Got in late and the resturant was closing, but got a burger at the bar. Good luck

SteveOn the way back we plan on staying at the Embassy Suite. That way if either of us can't sleep due to jet lag, we can go to the other room.
Any issues with the one near the airport in Atlanta?
-Steve
I think I stayed at the Courtyard last year. Pretty nice. Stayed at the Radisson a bunch of times and it is a dump. There must be a bigger kickback to the travel agents for the Radisson.
They all cost about the same, so why stay at a dump?
Thanks for the info everyone. I ended up reserving at the Best Western Airport--$72 for room, 2 beds, 3 people. Airport shuttle.

AxterThanks for the info, we will be overnighting in Atlanta in July also. If they dont have good wine there I guess I'll just have to get a bottle of Chivas

, My wife and myself and the couple we are going with like wine, and I hear they have some good wine in S.A.

Groove BulletsI booked a room at the Holiday Inn Airport - North. They have a shuttle as well. There are 2 double beds per room - $40 each. I do get a slight price break on that though since I am a member of their club.

Arts: I had to spend the night on my last last trip to Johannesburg (2001) and four of us stayed at one of the Holiday Inns...it was right there at the airport. I forget what the cost was but I know it wasn't much and the place was great. You could eat food and drink Castle beer on the main floor and we had decent accommadations in the room (a hot shower)...all Holiday Inn rooms look pretty much the same from the inside. I was too high strung to sleep. The compelled-rest will do you good though and it doesn't cost too much.
The prices Kathi listed sound pretty good. Kathi is helping me get excellent airfare prices for my trip to SA later this year, so you might talk to her about overnight accommodations.. She is an asset here on AR.

I have to overnite in Atlanta, not Joberg.

llamapackerI usually stay at the Sheraton, and will again this June. It is a pretty nice hotel, and they do have the shuttle.
Bill
I'll be there the nite of June 13 (Sunday).
