shakariI had a client use them in his 416 for lion last year and they worked a treat. FWIW, I also use them in my .500 when I'm hunting lion and have had to use them 2 or 3 times over the last few years and again, they worked just fine. - I shot one lion in the face with it and the bullet exited out of the animals ass. I obviously lost the bullet but the exit hole was about twice the size of the entry. I've also used them for the coup de grace on a few down but not out buffalo. These I did recover and the expansion was terrific. - To well over an inch....
Can't really help you with loads though as I use Somchem powder and you won't. However, Woodleigh publish a recommended terminal velocity on the box and if you work to that with your reloading manual, you won't go far wrong.

ForrestBI used a 410 gr Woodleigh in my 416 Rigby (2425 fps) on a TZ lion. First shot was a side-on pass through. The second shot entered at the base of the tail and stopped in the front right shoulder. It was about four feet of heavy muscle and spine damage. I think it's a good bullet for lion - it opens fast but holds together well.

Steve, are you sure that was an exit wound you were measuring?
