SDhunterCaprivi or Niassa Mozambique Buffalo hunt
I am looking for info/recommendations on either a Caprivi strip buffalo hunt or a Niassa Mozambique buffalo hunt.
From my research it looks like the Caprivi would be a wet marshland type hunt, similar to the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The Niassa would be more dry land mopane type country.
Any all information is appreciated. I have started contacting some outfitters, but I would like to be thorough and research all leads.
Please include any stay away warnings too. PM's are welcomed. I do not have a set timeframe for year as I have been dreaming of this for too many to years to count, so waiting an extra year or two is no big deal. But I am ready to go this year, next, or the year after. Fully realizing that this year is most likely booked.
Thanks for the help.

ozhunterBest to get references from previous hunters when it comes to outfits in Mozambique.
AR will help with this.

joesterJust my opinion, but why not hunt the dry area? I hunt FLA hogs in the swamps and I do like it, but, for me, to travel to Africa for a DG hunt, I don't want to slosh through the muck. I'd only hunt African swamps if there was no other options.

lavacajoester,
Guess it depends. I've never hunted buffalo in a swamp. Might be interesting.

Clan_CollaNiassa area is a great place to hunt-
As is Coutada 11 & 12 with Zambezi Delta
(and if you want you can do buff on the dry land AND the swamp in this area)
BTW- Swamp hunts are tough , especially if you are pushing 60

Aaron NeilsonI might suggest you find a good agent, Wendell Reich comes to mind in this case. Someone who has been to all of these places, often numerous times - and can provide an unbiased opinion/info on all of them. That way you can compare apples to apples.
Something to consider at least.
Good luck!
