During my last trip to Kazuma, we bumped into a hunting vehicle on the Unit 2 boundary. Standard procedure: Local Zim PH, client on the back accompanied by 2 South African "guides". They were both wearing Smith and Dunham caps. They were hunting elephant.

Apparently these guys now have the Unit 2 quota?

Interesting. I leave a week from tomorrow to hunt unit 3. Hope it goes well.

Who are you hunting with?

Unit 3 is hunted by HHK Safaris. There are some issues going on right now with unit 2 and unit 4.
I just returned from Unit 1 last month and the hunts had been stopped on both 2 and 4.

Ma Baker...I spoke with the gentleman who you met in Unit 2 today. I first spoke with him regarding his hunt last year in the same area where he took 3 bulls the biggest a 75 pounder. He remembers meeting you and asked me what your name is which I dont know I just told him he was with a PH with "long hair" and he remembered right away.

They had some other "run ins" during his hunt which I wont go into detail and that is why he had trouble remembering you right away.

Anyhow he was looking for 80 + and came home empty BUT saw more elephants than he has ever seen including plenty of bulls in the 40 to 60 lb. range. His son shot a 41 inch sable and a good buff. He did say that he saw ALOT of good sable bulls and 3 kudu 55 or over. He didn't see as many buffalo as last year.
