Hi anyone, shooting 350g Woodleigh PPs or solids out of their 375 Weatherby Magnum? If so, what kind of velocities are you getting? If you've had any experience using them on brown bears, cape buffalo, etc., I'd love to hear about it.

You will be much happer sticking to super premium 300 grain bullets. Those will give you a trajectory like a 30-06. Perfect.

If you reload you will really be impressed with the 300 gr. North Fork softs

The Woodleigh 350 PRP has a recommended impact velocity of 1900/2500 fps. You might exceed that on close shots. The 300 Swift A Frame is a particularly tough bullet. Never used North Forks, but I' m hunting the A Frames in July from a stock H&H. I've had remarkable success with them in two calibers. Have some Woodleighs loaded up, also, and might try them on a second buff, assuming I get the first buff...

I've tried them in my 375Wby. IIRC, the velocities were around 2600fps. I'd stick with a premium 300gr like the NF or Swift if I were taking it hunting.

I've had very good luck with 150g A-Frames at 3000 fps out of my 270 on elk. I wish they made a 350g bullet for the 375 though ...

The 300 grain A Frame will do you just fine. I've had several one shot kills with a 7mm Remmy on pg using 160's from 20 to out past 300, and a one shot on a buff from a box stock Mod 70 H&H. I'd love to try the North Fork because of the great press they get here and on other forums, but you really don't need a 350 A Frame.

On my buff bullet, after passing through both rib cages, a shoulder, the heart and both lungs, the retained weight on the bullet I used was 292 grains. That's one tough bullet, with great expansion. Just put that 300 where it has to go and enjoy your trophy and your hunt.
