Hello Everyone,
I am a new member of this group. I have had a great time reading all of the information you have all shared.
On Monday (04/04/2005) my wife and I leave for Chewore North to hunt with Peter Barnard. This will be our third hunting trip to Africa, the second time to Zimbabwe. We were in Matetsi last year. But this year is the pinnacle for me ELEPHANT. We have been looking forward to it for several months now. Any particular advise that anyone can offer about the area, game, climate, ect.?
Thanks again for such a wonderful resource.

ShumbaWillie,
I'm betting you will be staying in the Big5 camp. I have only been on two safaris and both of them were with Big5 in Chewore North. It is a great camp on the banks of the Zambezi River. My wife went with me on our first trip and she spent most of the time fishing.
It is truly a wild area and you will see a lot of elephant. Hopefully one that is a shooter for you. I have posted quite a few photos lately and just about all of them are from Chewore North. In fact there is a thread that is a day or two old that specifically talks about Chewore and I think also talks about Peter Barnard as a PH.

WillieWell I am back home again. It seems that it all went by so fast. We got our elephant, a leopard, hippo, and a croc. It was the best Safari I've been on so far. Peter is truly what a PH is supposed to be. I would recommend him to anyone.
