"Dangerous Game" Marathon on Versus 12/26-27
For some reason it does not show up on the website for Versus, but the DirectTV channel guide shows a Dangerous Game marathon starting at 3:00 PM Central on Friday and ending in the early hours of Saturday.

Maybe it is a glitch in my guide but I thought I would mention it.

Gosh, I hope that it's not a glitch. While the family is all out returning gifts and shopping, I have an excuse to stay home!

They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods." -- H. L. Mencken

I watched it and after about four hours it then began to repeat itself and did so the rest of the night. Great advertisement for Jeff Rann and Jeff Rann Safaris, since most of the hunts were with him. I enjoyed the Kodiak Brown Bear hunt with Dorsey, especially when they called in that monster Brown Bear with a predator call and then shot him ten yards from them as he was charging in.

I recorded the entire series. I'll watch them during some crappy bowl game during the next week. Wink

My wife and her mom went out to see "Marley and Me" while I sat in with VS. Smiler
I like how EVERONE was using a Beretta or Sako, even the lefthanded guy shooting hippo with a right handed double. bewildered

They were definitely pushing the Sako 85 and Federal ammo.

Did you see that the PH named "Leslie" had a muzzle brake on his big bore?

Frank: Wasn't it a .460 Weatherby? That would explain it. Big Grin I also think that Leslie's father was the one eaten by the croc.

That show gets on my nerves. It seems like the majority of the show is spent talking about how hunting is good for conservation efforts, and recalling stories of how such-and-such type of animal once mauled so-and-so.

Important stuff, to be sure. It just seems like out of the 30 minute show that once you deduct time for commercials, talking about conservation, and stories of how the intended game mauled a hunter, you are left with only about ten minutes of coverage of the actual hunt, if you're lucky.

I have my DVR set to record all DG shows. For some reason, this marathon caused my DVR to lose its mind. Recorded many blanks for shows, filled up the DVR and started deleting things.

I had some problems too as I told mine not to record them (I think they were all re-runs of shows I had seen) but it keep disagreeing with me.

At my house the alternatives were Lawrence of Arabia and Ivanhoe. I probably should have kept it on Versus. Eeker

There were only about 6 or 7 shows, each aired multiple times. All were re-runs. Took me about 10 minutes to delete them all.

Because of my job I really don't seek out hunting TV but I did record the DG Marathon. I found it pretty interesting as I hunted lion in Lower Lupande where Chris Dorsey shot the big cat and LU 5 where he took the hippo is one of our concessions. The programs were very well done and the only fault I found was as usual there was more advertising than I would like. These programs are definitely hugh quality "Bubba Porn".
