A 34-year-old man from Matabeleland South escaped death by a whisker when a marauding buffalo threw him up a tree with its horns, where he got stuck, police have confirmed.
The acting police spokesman for Matabeleland South, Constable Thabani Mkhwananzi said the incident occurred on Friday around 1300 hours at Madlambuzi Dam.
Const Mkhwananzi said Mr Khayisani Ncube was attacked by the buffalo when he was taking some photos of the animal.
“Ncube saw a buffalo going to the dam and decided to follow it. While he was following it, he was taking some photos,†he said.
Const Mkhwananzi said when the buffalo sensed that there was someone behind it, it turned and charged at Mr Ncube.
“Mr Ncube tried to run, but it caught up with him. When it caught up with Ncube, it hit him with its horns and he landed on top of a tree. The buffalo could not reach him and it eventually gave up and returned to the dam,†he said.
Ncube only sustained some minor bruises.

That should read, lucky, blessed, or most fortunantly.
Cause the buff didnot get a second go at him.
Bet he is sore for awhile.
