Re: Urgent help: gun auction .350 Rigby
Leighton,
Are you pulling our collective legs??? . Please tell us more about this fine weapon. I am picturing this John Rigby sidelock ejector double in excellent condition ($60,000 +) for $400.00, or actually any double rifle in .350 Rigby made by anyone in excellent condition. Pleeeease give us more information. Take care and God bless.

Can't go wrong buying most any British double for $400...

I've got a Gibbs-made double in 350 Rigby No. 2, handload for it, had it scoped, but mainly use the iron sights for it now. Bertrams makes brass, RCBS makes dies, Swift makes a 225 grain head that regulated well or buy the Woodleigh head that is closer to original Kynoch dimensions and may regulate better. I use IMR4895, but IMR4350 may work with more accuracy.

Would be sensible to slug chamber/bore as some can be tight at .356, raising pressure with .358 heads.
Regards

Got money to burn, have you Leighton? ;-)

I haven't got a clue on what the rifle is worth, but it sounds like an interesting purchase. Give us some background on the rifle, and some pics, and tell us about your plans for it.

i'm not sure what it's worth, but you did not pay too much. Tell us more about it...maker, action type, barrel length, etc. Pictures would be wonderful! Enjoy your rifle!
