As Global Rescue's point person for hunting, I have had the opportunity of interacting and speaking with many AR members over the last two years. I have also had the pleasure of meeting with many of you at the conventions each winter. I am excited to say that I will again be heading over to Southern Africa in the morning and cannot wait to get on the ground! I’ll be spending time in South Africa before heading onward to Namibia and Zimbabwe. I will be traveling with a member of our Operations team as part of Global Rescue’s continued due diligence in the region. We will be working to inspect and evaluate the evacuation procedures, resources and facilities that can best handle a case in the unfortunate event a member of ours becomes injured or ill while on safari.

I would love to meet up with any other AR members that are heading over these next few weeks if possible. Please let me know your schedule and I'll do my best to meet with you.

In other news, it has been a busy week here at Global Rescue in the aftermath of Nepal's earthquake. Rescue operations conducted by Global Rescue include:

-- Triaging more than 200 humanitarian cases at Lukla in the first 24 hours after the quake
-- Continuing to respond to over 93 requests for help and supporting 46 active rescue and evacuation operations.
-- Coordinating the evacuation of all Global Rescue members and others trapped at Camps I and II on Everest on April 28
