37" Lesser Kudu
I thought perhaps you guys might like to see the pending new SCI # 1 Lesser Kudu taken in our Omo Concession early this November. Since we currently hold # 1 and # 2, I guess we are now the top three. dancing

Beautiful animal!

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

That just might be the Antelope Trophy of the Year!

Is that the hunter, or PH...wearing the Keens?

Rich,

You should be banned from AR. First you drive my husband crazy with all the huge Mountain Nyala pictures and now a new world record lesser kudu to stir up other AR members.

All my husband talks about is his October 2011 Mountain Nyala hunt with ERVS. Thanks for all your help in booking his hunt. It is hard to believe how many years out you are booked.

Looking forward to visiting with you in Reno.

Once again, congratulations on a GREAT trophy.

Rich is that the one Jason said he was saving for me? What a trophy! I guess I'll pass on the 33 and 34 inchers when I'm there. Looks like your client made an excellent shot too. Congrats to all at ERVS

That's just incredible. So few safari hunters get the opportunity to hunt these wonderful animals, I don't think they get the recognition they deserve. Lesser kudu, I think, are the most beautiful antelope in Africa. Greater kudu are so common that the true "grey ghost" of Africa has to be the lesser kudu.

Hell some guys in the eastern Cape would pass that as a trophy bull in their regoin.

No, just joking perfect trophy and the horns are super poitning outwards. Well done. thumb

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

The animal was encountered in an area where we usually don't see them. Must have been looking for new women lessers......

Moja,

We haven't seen yours for a while. Perhaps he's out looking for new ladies too. Wink

Retreever,
That story is published in the fall 2007 African Sporting Gazette if you can get your hands on a copy. I'll bring one to the Dallas Drunk..er, that is..meeting.

Kathi,
This lesser kudu was taken on one of those Omo Extensions. Perhaps Richard should consider that too? Sorry to stir things up stir

Thanks to all for your interest and kind words.

Absolutely beautiful. Rich can you keep us posted on the record status? I would love to see your website to see your other trophies if you have one. Didn't find a website on your profile.

After the 60 day drying period it will be measured by a master measurer. I'll post the score when I get it. Probably mid January just before SCI. No website...just me.

I think the lesser kudu is the prettiest trophy available in Africa. They are just prettier than the bigger ones.
