Buffalo Clip
Here is a short clip of a Buff hunt in Tanzania a few years ago with the 450 Dakota.

Who was more adrenalized, the buff or the shooters?

Wendell,

Cool, man did the dirt kick up from the muzzle on that first shot. A .450 Dakota from the prone position - damn!

Terry

I want the ammo sales concession.

All kidding aside - I think shooting until it drops or you are out of bullets is the best way to take any game. I shoot until it quits moving be it an elk, deer or pig or whatever. I call this the "swiss cheese effect". It has always worked for me.

Saeed's one shot kills are boring.

After his shot, he is just watching. He realizes that this Buff, while still standing, was done.

My first shot nailed the Bull hard. Why the ph shot, I do not know, because that Bull was going nowhere! I guess he just wanted to make sure he was anchored. His shot wasn't necessary, and actually, his shot did not even hit the Buffalo, his bullet hit the tree in front of him.

Dogcat,

I am the same way. Whitetail, Pig, Buffalo ... squirrel ... shoot it until it is dead then shoot it one more time. It has never failed me.

Six shots from a 450 Dakota (including the first one prone that probably broke the shooter's shoulder). I'm afraid I'd die before the buffalo does.

Seven shots total? Obviously a marginal caliber for buffalo.
