The rifle offered on behalf of the African Professional Hunters Association (APHA) is a caliber .416 Rigby built by Paul Roberts (London). It is based upon a customized Brno 550 action fitted with a twenty-four-inch barrel. The rifle weighs approximately ten pounds. A 1/2-inch recoil pad is installed resulting in a 14-1/2 inch length of pull, which may be adjusted easily by modifying the pad.
The stock is from a Roberts selected and fitted Turkish walnut blank. It has scroll engraving applied to the receiver and floor plate.
The rifle was nitro-proofed and tested by the Proof House in London. Paul Roberts is well known in the London gun trade, having operated John Rigby & Co. (London) from 1984 through 1997 and subsequently W.J. Jeffery & Co. from 2000 to 2011.
