I am relatively new to all of this and have noticed that not very many, if any one, on this board dicusses Kimber or Dakota rifles. Most of the comments are on CZ or Winchester or others. Any opinions on these rifles? They look good to me.

I have a Kimber Classic 243. I love it. It is extremely accurate and well made. Great "out of the box" quality. I am a detective, and also carry a Kimber Pro Carry 45. It like the rifle is well made and accurate. IMHO

I have shot right around 200 head of game in past 3 years(from Klipspringer to Elephant) with a Dakota chambered in 375 H&H and 2 buffalo with a Dakota 450. Never had a problem, havent even bothered to clean them either.

Many of the folks on this forum like to tinker, build, and put their own stamp on what they use. CZs and Winchesters make affordable starting points for projects. Kimbers and Dakotas are "turn key" rifles.
If you view a purchased rifle as a finished product, then the Kimbers, Dakotas, Empires, Legends, and Mauser Werkes of the world are for you. If, on the other hand, you view a purchased rifle as merely the chassis that you intend to get to work on, then CZs and Winnies are your ticket to an enjoyable time.

I would buy a Dakota or a Kimber rifle any day and never feel sorry about it.

I have been using two custom built rifles - we built them ourselves - on Dakota 76 actions - for many years, for all my African hunts.

Years ago I gave my father a Kimber 22 RF rifle, he used it almost every day, keeping it in his truck all the time. He said he had never, ever had a rifle as good as that one. That rifle was in a sorry state of looks, so I bought him another one.

Highly recommended.
