378 Weatherby Vs 460 Weatherby
If i could ask you pros a question. I am going to Zim for a Leopard and Buff hunt. My plans were/are to use my 378 on the Cape Buff. But I'm looking at 460 weatherby now. Recoil is not a factor. I'm I ok with my 378..270 Barnes-X? I will be using factory loads. I'm told I will be at around 50 yards for my shot. Thank you ....

You're fine with the .378 and 270gr. "X", but if you want to use the .460 with a 500gr. "X", go right ahead.

Both will do but I would use 300 gr. in the .378...The .460 is a better buff gun if you can handle the recoil in field positions..in my opine.

500grains
Use whatever you can shoot better. But get some reloads for those weatherbys that are loaded down so that you do not experience a stuck bolt (a reportedly common occurrence with weatherby factory loads).
