Nakihunter http://www.tradekey.com/product_view/id/642047.htmYou can get a replica for less than $1000!
I thought the world record was a cow from JA Hunter at 62 inches. But this one is 63.5". Is it also a cow?

Matt NormanThis one? As you can see I held it in my hands. Was also on hand when it was scored. Not quite as big as first described.

Matt Normanmore pics...
And here is master scorer Ernst Sholtz scoring it

Matt NormanBy the way, it was a pick-up. Probably killed by a lion. The person that ended up with it was a taxidermist in Arusha and he turned it into a money-maker with several locals making replicas of it.

NakihunterWas it a cow like the previous record that JA Hunter got?

Nakihunter, to answer your question in such a manner that you learn something: cows do not have bosses, so this is a bull.

In all fairness it does not have much of a boss nor a typical boss as is commonly seen on Cape buffalo bulls and for those who are not familiar with the genetics of the Manyara buffalo can mistakenly assume it is a cow.

Exactly why I asked the question. Most boss seem to have a tear drop or coma shape while this one is hardly a boss. The other reason for the question was that JA Hunter's record was also a cow.

You have not read my comment carefully:
"for those who are not familiar with the genetics of the Manyara buffalo can mistakenly assume it is a cow."
The buffalo skull pictured is indeed that of a bull - that it looks like a cow buffalo is granted but that is due to a genetic
factor common to some of the Manyara Buffalo - could be regarded as a form of hybrid maybe?
I have noted that they either have no balls or very shriveled ones (excess of female hormones maybe).
J.A. Hunter's buffalo was indeed a cow taken in Uganda?

Tom In TennesseeHe may have had very small testes but he is still giving that "you owe me money" look in the Zebra pic!

NakihunterNo offense meant or taken guys. Just wanted to know if it was a cow. I didn't know about the genetic issue with those buffalo! You learn some thing new each day!
