BaxterBSending Ammo To Botswana
I have a friend in Botswana who inquired if it were possible to send some ammo that isn't available there. Anyone have a clue if/how it can be done. Thanks, Baxter

AtkinsonI don't think it can be done economically, as you have to have an export permit as I understand it...At best its near impossible.

shakariI would think it will probably be impossible to send it from the US............however, it might be possible for you to order it from Ken Stewart of Stewart Bullets here in South Africa (he can make and load any calibre you like) and your friend could either pick it up from him or dependant on the calibre, where your friend is located and how soon he needs it, I might be able to collect it from Ken myself and drop it off somewhere for your buddy to collect. My next trip to Bots is in a few weeks time.
Of course, it might be that your friend just isn't aware of Ken Stewart's services.
If I can help just send me an e-mail.

SaeedI remember asking my PH what ammo I need bring with me in 1993.
His answer was anything I wish to bring.
Well, I took a 12 gauge semi auto shotgun and a BRNO 22 RF for him, as well as two rifles for me to hunt with.
I cannot remember how many rounds I took for my 270 Ackley and 416 Weatherby rifles. But, I know that I took several thousands rounds of 12 gauge and several thousands 22 RF ammo.
I shipped all of these ahead of us - together with the rifles.
I collected everything at Vic Falls airport - without any questions being asked by the customs people!
In fact, I think he still has some of that ammo left!

T.CarrUS law states that you must acquire an export permit for any ammuntion shipped overseas (except for ammunition taken overseas by you for your own personal use).
