FjoldRecommendations for dip and pack in Port Elizabeth, RSA?
I did a search, and got a bunch of results from 2006 and older.
I'm looking for a dip and pack company near Port Elizabeth. The one that the outfitter recommends on their site looks pretty expensive compared to Zimbabwe and Namibia rates.
Can anyone recommend some South African companies?
Thanks,
Frank

470EDDYI used Karoo Taxidermy near East London SA for my last shipment. I was referred to them by a fellow Northwest friend with trophies coming into Portland and client of Crusader Safaris out of PE.
I had hunted with good friend Cam Greig at Bombazi Wilderness north of East London....most of his clients were Europeans and was not familiar with US shipments....and local taxidermists were pretty out the top....
Karoo came into East London to pick up my trophies and the cost was one-third in total, ie dip/pack/doc, forwarding and Air...then we combined three safaris into one shipment for bigger savings. Excellent work!

BNagelKaroo Taxidermy burned my kudu horns. Not blackened, burned them. Had to take an old bronze brush and drill to grind the ash off and do-it-myself/make something I could put on a shield. A combined shipment started out with a crate from the first half of the safari and what I received was a cardboard box, full of SevinDust coating whatever wasn't bagged and shield mounts broken. Listen to Scriptus, Frank.
Taxidermy Africa did better work in 2005. Only European mounts and flatskins so no dip-and-pack, but they made me happy.

470EDDYKaroo Taxidermy did an excellent job for me, everything perfectly clean and packed well. No hassels with Docs, etc. Done fast and efficient and communicated very well.
I have had problems in other shipments, most recently in Namibia but previously with forwarder in SA on shipment from Mozi.....very high costs seem to be a driving factor today. Karoo was VERY reasonable based on two others that were involved by the Outfitter.

LionHunterAnother vote for Taxidermy Africa. I used them for many years before I stopped having trophies mounted. Kathy and family have a long history in taxidermy.

Not really, only one. Check with Taxidermy Africa, they used to give a guarantee on their work as well as a "how to care for the end product."
