MJinesYou Just Think You Are a Bad Shot . . .
In Donald Ker's book African Adventure he tells the story of two sisters that he once took on safari. Apparently one sister could shoot reasonably well, the other sister . . . not so much. Towards the end of the safari he took the latter sister out to shoot a Thomson's gazelle. She killed the gazelle on her thirty-sixth shot. Apparently the gazelle became so accustomed to the sound of the rifle he just continued to graze while the sister continued to shoot. I am proud to say that while there have been times that it took me a few more than one shot to accomplish the task at hand, it has yet to take me thirty-six shots.

Yes, you are correct. Some of us are very selective about our hunting companions, others apparently are not nearly so picky.

NakihunterI was hunting feral goats with a young friend once - more like culling behind fence lines - and the hill side was very steep. The angle made it impossible to take prone shots at ranges of 100 to 150 meters & when sitting I was canted at an uncomfortable angle.
Using my Kimber 7mm08 I kept missing shots and finally would get one & missed 5 more!. I finally realised that I was holding the rifle tilted almost sideways & with a zero 2 " above POI at 100 meters, I was aiming for the shoulder and shooting to the left - under the neck of the animals!

465H&HI usually don't take 36 rounds of ammo to Africa, even on a multiple elephant hunt!

surestrikeI once shot an elk 7 times...
I hit it good on the first shot and it went down shortly thereafter. As I approached it in thick downfall it picked up its head. All I could see was it's head and the top of its neck. I took careful aim just at the base of the neck. At the shot the elk simply twitched its ears and otherwise froze. So I took careful aim and shot again. I got the same reaction, six times in total.
Finally the elk flopped over dead. It had one bullet hole in its lungs a bit far back and six holes in about a two inch group through the neck. All of which managed to miss the spine or anything else of vital importance.
Shooting an elk in the neck six times and not hitting anything vital takes mad talent!

Saeed with your limited shooting, hunting and reloading experience you have much to learn from Biebs. First you have to get a Blaser

customboltMike and Jon; Keep trying. You'll both get it eventually.

MJines. Who carries that much ammo on a plains game hunt for one animal anyway? Do you recall the yardage?
Just curious.

I am always willing to learn.
But, on the subject of that silly contraption made by Blaser and sold to uninitiated as a rifle, I had first hand experience with Walter using one.
Honestly, I was rolling on the ground laughing as my feet went like bloody jelly the way he was using it.

crbutlerAnd how much did Blaser pay you not to post the video?

Impossible! He must have stolen it! There's no way he could have passed Blaser's minimum ownership standards! :-)

I got news for you my friend!
Walter is a member of the VVIP Blaser's Owner's Club! The only one in that club so far

And don't be so proud of your own photo displayed here, Walter has two less teeth than you, so you are second place here too!

Ker indicated that the tommy was about 50 yards away.
