Torches the good the bad and the ugly
If your light is mounted in the center of your forehead, makes a great target for the bad guys. Big Grin I tend to think in not only hunting applications but self defense as well.

If that head lamp is in the center of your forehead when you mount your gun the light will not be shining at the same spot your barrels are pointed.

I would not try using one on following up wounded dangerous game.

The "H" is the overall shape.

The "U" is the shape of the rubber above
and below the cross line of the H.

If you go back a page, I posted a link to them
on the deal extreme web site.

I have some lights that are worn on the head, and I also have different lights, from different manufacturers, coming next week.

I am going to look at them all and try the head band light and let you all know what happens.

Well,

Some kind gentleman just brought in an.

MX6 Marauder

I think this must be the very best light for following cats at night.

I have seen so many lights, and this one beats them hands down.

It has a very wide beam, covers such a wide angle that makes life so much easier at such a difficult time.

The specs are incredible too.

5000 lumens for 75 minute
1200 lumens for 4 hours 30 minutes
150 lumens for 30 hours.

It always surprises me how torch technology seems to advance so quickly..... but that one looks particularly good. tu2

How big and heavy are the torch and battery units and can you for example carry the battery unit comfortably on your belt?

Steve,

This torch is not that big, and the battery pack can be clipped onto your belt.

I will take photos of all of the torches when they get here and post them.

I used to swear by Surefire.

But, after so many times of finding them flattening the battery, I gave up on them.

There are many very torches available nowadays that are far better value, and perform better as well.

I've also been a big Surefire fan in the past but as you say, they're a bugger on batteries.

I'll be interested to see your pics etc and even more interested in finding out if they have agents in the EU. Smiler

We have people here who go hunting varmint
- rabbit and foxes - with torches only and
spend 4 hour or so walking around with maybe
one change of 18650 batteries.

A opposed to the past when they would take
a proper spotlight.

We just received our torches for this year's safari.

The head mounted torch above has 1400 lumens, and has a relatively wide angle too.
