You've spent the last 8 days shooting impala, zebra and whatever else. Hanging baits, checking baits, refreshing baits. Finally it's the last day & there has been an old tom on one of the baits. You hope against hope that he's feeding before dark. 2 PM the sun is hot, beating down on you as you crawl into the blind. It's the last hours of your safari and you must sit perfectly still. no noise, no movement can be made, even though the tetse flies suck your blood, and the mopane flies buzz into your eyes and ears. Then, at about 5 PM, in broad daylight, he appears like a ghost. Standing on the tree branch he looks your way. His eyes meet yours, He knows you're there. Now you must freeze absolutely still. So, why is it just then that your nose gets an uncontrollable itch??
