MtnBoyClearing salted hides
I have cleared three shipments through Atlanta, all skulls and finished zebra rugs. My next shipment includes salted hides. Same procedure?

Jerry HuffakerSame procedure except legally all salted hides have to go to a USDA approved facility. Some agents will let you pick them up and some won't. Technically they aren't supposed to but some will. Just depends on who you use.

I use the U S Fish and Wild Life Service and customs within 50 feet of each other at the Atlanta Airport. They are a short drive from the cargo docks. Generally takes less than an hour if you have complete the forms in advance. Just wasn't sure about the salted hides. Thanks.

I know that the USDA will inspect them if you bring them back as checked baggage. As long as nothing is amiss they will sign you off. I did it twice about 10 years ago.
