Namibia weather
Hi All,
I will be hunting late Aug to early Sept in the north east part of Namibia. What should I expect as far as weather.

Thanks for any info,
Regards, PG

When I went in early Sept 03 it was dry, low 50's at night and just beginning to hit about 90 during the day. You will need a jacket in the morning but can shed it when the sun gets up.

Beautiful landscape, cold at night, warm to hot during the day. Mostly sunny, bring a winter coat for nights and mornings. Don't forget the sunscreen and chapstick.

PG,

Dress in layers, in the morning it will be cold, by 10 am the jacket will come off and by noon you'll be in shorts and a tee shirt, then the process will repeat itself as the late afternoon sets in. We would take a 2-3 hour seista after lunch until the heat began to break.

I have hunted in that area twice, once in June and the other time in August.I would agree with the advice you have gotten so far but would add that one day in August we had wind and overcast skies and it was bloody cold all day.Next day back to the old program of cool mornings, warm midday ,and cool evenings.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!
