kudu4u ----- Try www.superiorammo.com they list North Fork bullets on their chart of available bullets. They will also load the bullets of your choice if you supply them. Good shooting.

Actually, Wendell, your longest was with my Mod 70 - 350 yards on a buff. Heart shot him. Dead as a doornail. Even had to hold slightly for the wind (I will take credit for giving the wind instructions).

Load was 400 grain Swift A Frame under a max charge of Varget (in Denver now, so I don't have the load notes in front of me).

Mine was at 280 Yards on a mountain Zebra a client wounded. It was standing brought sided on the opposite slope of a mountain. Shot was with a Winchester Mod 70 open sight. Ranged with rangefinder after shot.

I would have preferred the Select Safari solids made of Naval brass with a Tungsten Carbide core. These will absolutely not deform.And have a great melplat. Select Safari now has the tooling and manafactures the bullets. My wife has used .375 on elephant and we have yet to recover any bullet.

Ruger 77Magnum, .416 Rigby, 350-gr X, 227 lasered yards on an Ontario coyote.

Probably one of my most memorable shots...because it was the one that split the stock on that durn gun, only a few short weeks before it was supposed to go to Africa with me.

I have a first year of new production (1994) Model 70 CRF in 416 Remington. Killed a bison at 30 yards with handload of 350 gr Speer Mag-Tip over 84 gr BL-(C)2, chronographed at 2620 fps. Shot at base of the neck, dropping the buff instantly, while the bullet continued on into the forest 100+ yards away (the guide heard it and commented afterward).

Not a 416 Rem, but with my 416 Rigby I nailed a few pigs, with 300gn Barnes @ 2920fps. The first at 40 yards, the second at approx 160 yards, the third at approx 250 yards (paced), and the fourth got away. These were all taken off-hand after a bit of a chase through the scrub, (except the first which I sneaked up on),until I got to a point where I could see them clearly enough, so they managed to cover some ground between the hits. Then on another hunt I got a wild dog at 255 metres (measured using my GPS). The 300gn Barnes is a devastating bullet when used on small and medium game.

In 2006 I took a Nyassaland wildebeest named Fred at 350 yards with a Northfork soft. Clean heart shot. This is the ENTRY side....

I swear those things were opening on the hide. This was typical performance during the trip.
