EXPRESSElephant & Hippo in Mozambique in early May?
I've just been offered to go along with a friend to Mozambique on a heat of th emoment thing, he is going for an elephant and I would tag along for a hippo with my bow.
Just wondering what the conditions are likely to be? Is it going to be very wet?
Cheers.

GunsCoreThe conditions will be fine and hippo with a bow sounds like a real challenge. Good luck.

ozhunterI drove from Zim to northern Moz last May and found it not overly wet but the bush was very thick.

LionHunterWhere in Moz? It can make a difference, but it will be very green and lush (thick) everywhere.

Not really. What we do with bow hunters is make a small raft from a bit of acacia and drift the archer down stream into the pod of hippo. The bull takes great objection to this offering the perfect mouth shot at less than 2 feet. The raft is attached to a rope and if things get a bit sticky we just pull the chap back to the bank.

LionHunterSo, Andrew, you are really baiting Hippo with an archer?
