Doug PisanoSo what's the real difference??
Between a Biesa Oryx and a Gemsbock? Just wondering if there's a real difference between them. Is it size, weight, horn length????

MARK H. YOUNGDoug,
The Beisa oryx has distinctly different facial and coat marking from the the gemsbok plus smaller horns and body size.

ScriptusThe July/August 2012 edition of the "African Outfitter" has an article by Hilton Sanders on Oryx. There is also a new book out, [damn, more money,] by Chris and Mathilde Stuart, "Game Animals of the World." I have yet to see it, but if it is anything like their previous publications, it will be worth having a look at.
