GatogordoKnife for African Hunter who has everything.....
I was looking at knives on the net and found this in knifepurveyor.com. I am not the owner, nor do I have any interest in the site, but I have done some business with the owner and he is good people.
Beers knife/Brady scrim

Heck, I've bought my wife guns & lawnmowers before for valentines.
The doghouse gets a little crowded for a while, but I do love my dogs & they always love me back.

Well, it ain't cheap, but it is not nearly as expensive as some similar knives by "name" smiths. Montana has some great smiths including one of my personal favorites, Rick Dunkerley, and, believe me, his knives can be quite expensive. "Stroll" around that knife site for a while and you'll see what I mean about pricing.

$1150, and those are mammoth ivory scales, but I thought mammoths were REAL endangered. I haven't seen one in years...

Poyntman$1,150 is a lot.. There's a guy at. SCI every year that does a lot of handles in Mammoth Ivory that are beautiful. They run about 500-600

Use Enough GunPoyntman: If you want a decent knife look for Arno Bernard at SCI. I have a bunch of his knives and that might be the guy that you are referring to. He's South African, but he has a dealer here in the US now. Arno, his son and the dealer are usually at all of the shows. They also sell out of their knives fairly quickly. And it will come with a cape buffalo sheath.

Bill CollectorPlus 1 on Arno Bernard. Quality, good prices and really good looking products. Check out the ones with the Croc handles.

Jerry FiskRay's work with the knives was pretty standard. Sandra Brady has always been top notch on the scrim.
If you want to use the knife there are better ones out there.

BriceI carry a Buck 3-1/4" pocket knife. You don't become suicidal when you lose one.

shootawayA hunter always carries a knife.
02 February 2015, 18:44
Jerry FiskIt should be one that he is proud to carry and or show and that works really well in the field.
So many times hunters will carry a nice rifle but the cheapest knife they can find. The shot is the fun part, then the real work begins. Why carry something that makes the work harder?
And, no, the original knife photo is not an expensive knife. The price is about right for what it is.
