IndyUganda and Tim Ellement Safaris
A friend is considering a hunt in Uganda with Tim Ellement Safaris, LTD. He would fly on KLM to Entebbe and then take a charter. There is another opening and I could prob ably go along.
Primary quarry would be Sitatunga and Nile Buffalo, which I understand is a larger species or subspecies of the Cape Buffalo.
Tim Ellement has a web page, from which I gather he has considerable experience as a PH in Zimbabwe, but nothing is mentioned on the web page about Uganda.
I would appreciate any experiences or information about Tim Ellemant or Uganda hunting in general.

JaglavI hunted Uganda with Uganda Wildlife Safaris in 2014 and would be happy to share my experiences with you (I had an excellent hunt). As far as I know there are basically three operators in Uganda, Christian Weth with Uganda Wildlife Safaris, Bruce Martin, and Kaka Matama.
Tim Ellement is more than likely hunting through one of these operators.
PM me if you would like more information.

Tim HeraldI may be wrong, but I thought Nile buff were a bit smaller on average? I will be hunting with Christian in Feb/March, and I know a bunch of AR guys are hunting with him in 2017.
Good Hunting,

DLSNile buffalo are definitely smaller than Cape buffalo. Another interesting animal to hunt in what is supposed to be a fascinating safari destination.

dogcatI hunted leopards with Tim in Zim a few years ago. He was recovering from a gunshot wound but did great. His older brother (Ellos) died a couple of years ago. From that experience, I thought he and his brother were mostly elephant and cat guys, but they were good hunters for sure.
Tim struck me as a solid hunter and very nice guy. I cannot address his experience in Uganda.

Venture SouthI dont know Christian but I can vouch for Douglas Stevenson, I would contact them before signing up for a hunt with any others. They have been there a long time and run a tight ship
Good luck

dwarf416Mark Ellement died from melanoma. He was a superb hunter and an excellent person.
Tim Ellement is his younger brother and I cannot explain how good he is hunting. Out of this world would not do him justice. From mouse to elephant he will get you a fair chance to obtain your quest. I have the honor to consider him my friend. Solid guy. I only have 30 safaris under my belt in Africa but I would hunt with him anytime.
This said Uganda is a new country for him but he has hundreds of buffalo, elephant, leopards, a good bunch of lions and more plainsgame than I can count. Hunting machine

NakihunterI have been in correspondence with Ade Langley - adehunts@gmail.com
I have family in Kampala and wanted to know if a local hunt was possible at short notice.
Not sure about his reputation. He has been very helpful and seems like a genuine hunter. He is not trying any hard sell etc.
Just for your info.

JaglavYou may also want to look at the KLM flight. Not sure if you're taking weapons with you but the KLM flight from Amsterdam stops in Kigali, Rwanda before flying to Entebbe, Uganda. I've never flown this route but would definitely look into the logistics if there are firearms and ammunition involved.
