T.CarrElephant Hunt on TV
If you missed it a few months back, Bass Pro Shops show on the Outdoor Channel is repeating a show on an elephant hunt in Botswana.
I recorded it last night but the website says it is being repeated on:
Thu Nov. 25, 2004 2:30 PM (EST)
Sun Nov. 28, 2004 9:30 PM (EST)
Regards,
Terry
P.S.
Why do these deer hunters insist on wearing cammo in Africa?

butchlocI watched it last nite. found it interesting that the guy took a brain shot & missed, then took a H/L shot. Then when he was running you could hear a 3rd shot. When they found the ele. he was in a typical brainshot vertical position. Funny how they never show the PH shooting

WillHey Terry,
Since I am the last guy on earth without cable/satelite, I'll trade you a shirt for a VHS copy of the show????????????? (Hint, hint!).

AfricanHunterFortnerTerry,
Sure glad you have a copy to review. We could not get our get our recorder to work. We have the video "Death By Double Rifle" from Big Bore Productions and I see things in it now that I didn't catch the first time. It sure would have been nice for us if that frontal view of the downed elephant would have been longer.
As you know from my Zim report I screwed up too and shot over the brain on a uphill shot. Things happen, but it ended okay in both cases. No animals lost or long tracking for either of us to finish the job.
I would have missed it if it had not been for your headsup because I don't watch the TV or that cahnnel all that much. It was a nice half hour compared to the normal bow hunt whitetail.

MLGHere in Aussie, like minded guys would kill to see that outdoor channel. I emailed them a couple of months ago and asked them if there was any possibility of us getting reception at any time in the future over here and the reply was that they would probably look at it sometime in the future.
But then they would have to get it past our anti - hunting authorities ....
