Use Enough GunHow Big is this Gemsbok?
Very interesting. Mine was shot outside of Douglas, South Africa, approximately 60 miles from Kimberley, in 2002. By the way, thanks for being very generous in allowing some of us to heft and examine your beautiful rifles, including your double rifle, at your SCI booth. Finally, if anyone out there can shed any further information that they may have on why the face on Marc's gemsbok is different please feel free to do so.

yukon deltaThat's a good question about the facial markings. I would be curious to hear why also.

Andrew McLarenThe facial markings of gemsbuck are supposed to be as unique as fingerprints. This is a bit that I've "heard somewhere sometime",. Wish someone with real knowledge would chime in and confirm that "all" gemsbuck have distinctive facial markings. On a recent visit to a big taxidermy studio in Bloemfontein all of the 20 odd gemsbuck on the wall had distinctly different facial markings. Prooves nothing, but certianly does not disprove it either!
In good hunting.
Andrew McLaren.
