SAA SEATING CHARTS AIRBUS 340-600
Looked everywhere for subject chart of a POS Airbus. The one on the SAA site is unreadable. Went to seat guru.com and the highest seat number stopped at 58. We're in seats 72 A/C & D. They are SUPPOSED to be good seats. ANyhody have any ideas as to where I can look? thanks. jorge

Jorge,
The plane you are on has 75 rows of seats.
The seats you have are a window, aisle and aisle across.
Hope this helps...

Thank you Kathi. I take it I have 2 seats together (window and aisle) the the other seat is across the aisle? jorge

I pulled this from SAA's website and enlarged it.
Thanks Terry, that works out great. I think I was promised 74D that from the picture appears to hae the leg room I wanted, but Oh well. jorge

Bwanahilejorge,
looks like your are in the back of the "bus"!!!!
Jorge,
Yes, the forums over at airliners.net say that 74D is the best. As you can see from the chart there is no seat in front of you (there is a crew emergency access panel in the floor instead of a seat).
Whichever one of you sets in 72D won't have anyone behind them constantly adjusting the POS video screen located in the back of the seat.
Regards,
Terry

butchlocI had 74D on the way back in march even though it's in the back it is the only place you can actually strech out. If you can get that seat - TAKE IT

GAHUNTERLike Butch, I had 74-D last month, only I had it on the way over. Also, there was no one behind or beside me. Made for a great trip!
Karma being what it is, though, I had a "regular" seat on a full plane coming back. The most torturous 18 hours I have ever experienced.
Oh brother, that's just friggin' great. jorge

Trapdoor62D on the way home... stay out of those bulkhead seats as they are norrower and the seat belt is heavily padded... I cannot describe how frickin' miserable I was!!!!!!!
And despite the "appearance" of more legroom, it was actually worse as there was no opportunity to force your legs somewhat strait like you kind of can under the seat in front of you...
That bulkhead seat was 1000 times worse to me than the regular seat that I had on the way to Jo'berg...

You are right about the bulkhead seats.Last June I sat in 36K the seat from hell.My enertainment system crapped 1 hour out of Atlanta. The smell from the toliet was pretty nasty.
I found the whole flight the pits.Staff sucked, food sucked,no room,no entertainment and the smell. After that trip I vowed not to fly on an Airbus again.
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
Who do I have to f-ck for 74D? Last year my orthopedic surgeon and another doc wrote certificates about my needing more leg space. SAA told my travel agent "That if he needs more leg space then he should book in business".
I got really shitty seats.

patrkyhntrJorge, if it helps, I sat in 74D on the trip back from Joburg on Tuesday/Wednesday. It might just be the best seat in the sheep and cattle section! You are a lucky dog, buddy. Have a great and safe trip.
