Boddington has used it on buff and ele and speaks well of it in his revision of "Safari Rifles" and also in some videos he has done. Ruger makes a left-hand action which may be part of the appeal for him.

I recently purchases one, but haven't taken it to Africa yet. It shoots sub 1/2" at 100 yards, but attaining near factory velocity from reloads is a trick. I maxed out on RL 15 with outstanding accuracy but with 300 grain TSX at about 2475fps. I have a friend who had good velocity/accuracy results from RL 17, so we'll see.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I have one of the LH 375 Rugers and love it. Like the others I have not taken it to Africa yet, it will just be another excuse to return to Africa. When my buddy and I were first sighting it in he liked it so much he had a local gun shop price one for himself.

Yes the short barrel is great, makes getting thru the thick brush a lot easier.
