Here are a couple of groups from my S2 in .375 H&H at 100 yds. Love them or hate them this double shoots!

Moderator,

Isn't this topic more about big bores than African big game hunting?

True, but it is an African calibre!

Aleko,

Not necessarily, I have used 375 H&H for deer's and quite a few uses it for bear, moose etc.

So this means Saeed can scrap the entire big bore section since all larger calibers are African calibers?

Aleko,
Keep testing different loads. I am curious how the point of impact changes with the different loads as well as how they group.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NO!<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< African hunting is what that rifle was made for! OR, at least that's what Blazer says! Wink I don't know how a person can talk about African big game hunting, without discussing rifles designed for that purpose! Confused I use the 375 H&H to hunt a lot of things outside Africa, but, I'd say very few use a 375 H&H double rifle for that purpose. It's not the caliber but the rifle that qualifies as an African rifle.

The targets look as good as it gets, for a double, but damn those things are ugly!

I guess it all depends on the eyes looking at it! Wink

Nice shooting Aleko! beer

Very true, and it handles like a railroad tie. A Searchy, Chapuis or Merkel will shoot with the right load… I like the conservative style of doubles.

I look at accuracy as paramount in a double rifle. I have both traditional ones and now the S2. I am going to use it on an elk soon, then take it to Africa. I am planning on using it on some buffalo for sure. I am so pleased with the S2.

Accuracy being paramount? What a unique concept!

I have seen several prestigious guns that would not regulate with the loads they were supposed regulated for

There is no doubt the S2 shoots the pants off a lot of double rifles.

Now that Blaser has mastered the concepts of accuracy, mass production and quality control, I would be very interested in seeing them apply their skills to a take down M98 system, and a double with a traditional safety and barrel arrangement.

D99, I have been shooting it so much, having so much fun with it I haven't had time.

500,

I think we'll be seeing some interesting stuff from Blaser and Mauser this year
