Limpopo Big Game SafarisThe hunting of Leopard.
I have hunted several Leopards over the past years and still learn every day.
The most successful way for me is to locate a big tom track,
select a tree,
hang a bait and
make a drag.
Fingers x that the plan will work.
With the modern day technologies of trail cams and motion censored lights it makes life a bit more easier but it's still not a guarantee.
I have tried hunting a problem Leopard with hounds once, although many like the method (and I see nothing wrong with it)I am not fit enough to chase the dogs for several miles
My first Leopard I personally shot was in the day time when I checked a bait of mine.
The second one I shot was at night while calling Jackal
The third one I shot was from a blind over bait.
I still prefer the Bait and Blind although it's very exciting if a Leopard comes to a caller as well.
I recently had a Huge Tom come to the caller while hunting Hyena, unfortunately no Permit so I didn't shoot. (Although I was very tempted)
