JJ_MillerNeed Advice........
After having traveled Europe I have found things go a lot smoother when out of respect one tries to learn some of the language of where one is.
I guess it breaks the ice when one orders three donkey ears fried for dinner.
No one expected me to speak Swedish or Austrian but if I made a good faith effort I was met more than half way.
In this vein is there a best Kiswahili phrase book that will work in Tanzania ? I would like to learn the basic thank you and hello. Just trying to show some respect and learn somthing new...................................JJ

gotogirl3Easiest to deal with - I've tried several - is Lonlely Planet's Swahili Phrasebook. Plus it is small enough to carry around in a lg pocket but still legible! You can get it at lonely planet's website or on amazon.
