Malaria Medicine. FYI
A certain American soldier that shot up a village in Afghanistan recently had been taking Larium.

It is fine for most people, but if you are that 1 in a thousand or 10,000 as it may be then watch out.

To quote myself:

"Regarding Lariam/mefloquine psychiatric effects:

People are different.
Some are damaged goods who should not take Lariam.
Others are psychiatrically sound and have no problems from the drug.
This does not explain Walter's tolerance for the drug.

Duration of exposure might also have something to do with it, as in prolonged, continuous use.

Science has a tough time whenever human psychiatry is involved."

If Larium makes my dreams any more vivid than they already are I wouldn;t be able to differentiate between reality and the dreamstate. I think I'll pass on Larium...

I took one Larium pill, one time. On Dr's advice I took it 3 weeks before my safari started. I had vivid technicolor dreams for 2 years, and still have trouble with spatial orientation.

Previously I always knew which way was north, and had useful mapping and orienteering skills. Now I have a 50/50 chance of telling someone whether a point is East or West of us on a map. This change was sudden and dates from the Larium.

If I wasn't damaged goods previously, I am now!

Blame the medication, blame the doctor, get a lawyer to mount a class action suit, jack up the cost of all medications ... What's in your wallet?
