Beretta682EA Different Kind of Safari
I am seriously thinking on a trip in 2016-2017 to take my Mom with me to Africa.
I think she will enjoy Cape Town and Cape Area. Then go to Vic Falls and hunt in either the Save or Botswana.
My Mom will be 69 and is very healthy.

cal pappasYou're a good son.
I was to bring my mom to Zim in 2000 to vacation whilst I hunted a friend's ranch. We had to cancel due to the land takeover. However, she's had 20+ trips to Alaska and in her 70s we hiked in the Brooks Range to see sheep and grizzly bears. She's near 88 and I'm building an addition to my home and she will move here in the spring from the Communist Republic of Massachusetts.
You're mom will love Africa.

bwana cecilI don't believe my mom would have ever done anything that adventuresome, but I certainly wish I had been able to offer it.
Sounds like a very special trip.

Brian ClarkThat's very cool of you. I'm sure she will truly enjoy Africa and the time she gets to spend with her son. Hope you have a memorable trip.

SvinejaktI took my parents to South Africa when they where 62 and 55. They have since travelled back alone a couple of years later and they are now planning for the next time. My dad will then be 68. They love it

Colin CastelliI took my mother with me several years ago and she throughly enjoyed it. We spent two days at a friends farms, attended the Christening of my Godson, spent three days at Makidwe/Pilanesburg viewing animals, seven days hunting and relaxing and I sent her on a seven day horseback safari in Botswana while I continued to hunt. She was 63 at the time and dreams of going back. Take your mother, you won't regret sharing Africa with her.

NakihunterMy mum was a city girl and married a Forest Officer in India in 1950! The first place she lives as a young bride was in the Western Ghats in Nilambur (today the area has a wildlife sanctuary with tigers).
In 1950 my dad saw a tiger withing 200 meters of the bungalow - at a distance of 13 feet. Mum used to see leopards, wild boar, etc from the house and jackals etc. used to raid the garbage.
The house was separated from the next bungalow by about 500 meters. Staff houses were another 500 meters away. Mum would be alone at home in the dark as dad returned from field work!
The house had no electricity & was light with kerosene lamp and Petromax / Tilly lights!
Over the years she always accompanied us to various wildlife sanctuaries.
