Saps 520 help
I am filling out my SAPS 520 for a trip to RSA in May. Everything is pretty straight foreward except where it asks for the postal code for my residential and postal address. There are only four boxes and a zip code is five numbers. Am I missing something here?

No, put in the 5 numbers very carefully.

BobS,

I do not have a copy of SAPS 520 right here and now, so I can not ask exactly where the 4 spaces are allocated for a postal code. In South Africa our postal codes are all 4 digit numbers. So if asked where in South Africa you are staying, it will be a 4 digit code. If so, I'll take some time later today [it's 0445 now] to look around a bit for an electronic format Postal Code list, and post it here for all to use.

If is a place where you are to fill in your HOME address, I sure as hell hope that SAPS have realized that most countries - make that the important origin of our visiting hunters USA - have 5 digit codes. I sugest you simply add another little box and use your 5 digit Zip-code.

In good hunting.

Andrew McLaren.

No, the SAPS 520 gives you 4 spaces for your "home" (i. e. US) "postal code".

I had the same thing here in the UK with my postcode being 6 charectors. I just carried on writing in block capitals and it was fine.

I'm sure the SAPS won't look too closely at a postcode anyway......as long there's something in the box they'll be happy..... Wink

Look, I've filled this form out many times before and you just put in your 5 digit zip code. That means printing the 5 numbers in the "area" requiring your zip code. As long as you make it look presentable you will not have any problem. Maybe SAPS will change their form in the future, who knows? But for now just put in the numbers in a presentable fashion. All they want to know is what your "postal" (zip) code is for their paperwork.

This summer I filled out the same form. I just added my 5th number and had no trouble in Joberg.
